Step one: Do what your Holy Spirit tells you to.
I hate reading peoples blogs/Christian websites with the blog title: How to be a better Christian. What? No one can tell you how to be a better Christian. Praying won't make you a better one. Reading the Bible won't make you a better one. Only the Holy Spirit will guide you. You can't be "better" if you can't be the "best" and God does not grade you as a "worse" Christian or the "best" Christian by how many church services you have attended, how many Bible verses you have memorized, or how much money you donated to the church.
People are silly.
